From Heavenly Harmony was composed for my high school alma mater, Central Bucks High School EAST.  Mr E. Scott Teschner conducted the premiere.  His choir of over 300 voices wanted a piece that was simple to sing, yet sounded lush.  He handed me about 20 or 30 texts to choose from, this text from the Hymn to St. Cecelia caught my attention.

O Nata Lux was composed without commission for my dear friend, David Vanderhoof.  We went to school together and I was very close with him and his family.  When David's mother passed away, I composed this piece for him in her memory.  Central Bucks West's Chamber Singers performed the premeire with me conducting.

When Salem UCC in Doylestown asked me to write a piece for thier benefit concert, Te Deum was the piece I delivered.  The premiere performance included the senior choirs from Salem UCC and Forest Grove Presbyterian Church, along with the Joyful Ringers from Forest Grove, my father, Lee de Mets, on the organ bench, and my good friend, Jason Michael on timpani, all conducted by me.  The proceeds from the premiere performance were donated to a small church in Zimbabwe Africa for the purpose of a pastoral exchange.
